Printing Methods

Screen Printing

What is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a process where ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto a surface. Making certain areas of the screen impervious to printing ink creates a stencil, which blocks the printing ink from passing through the screen.

Screen-printed designs are soft, durable and will stretch with the fabric. When cared for properly they will not peel or crack.

Why did you choose screen printing?

We chose screen printing for our simple colour designs as it is the most eco friendly printing process and has the nicest feel on the fabric.

Who prints them?

All of our screen-printed clothing is printed by hand in the UK, either by our trusted screen printers Vinosangre or by Ivy.

How are they eco friendly?

Screen prints use water-based, eco-friendly inks and chemicals. We also only produce our garments in small batches to avoid any excess stock adding to landfill.

DTF Printing

What is DTF printing?

DTF (or Direct to Film) designs are made by digitally printing a layer of adhesive powder and a layer of ink onto a transparent film. The design is then permanently adhered to the garment using high pressure and heat.

DTF prints are soft, durable and will stretch with the fabric. When cared for properly DTF prints will not fade, peel or crack.

Why did you choose DTF printing?

We wanted to create full colour designs (that we couldn't readily do with screen printing) and found DTF printing to be really good quality and very wash fast. The downside to having lovely full colour designs is that the print feels a little 'plasticky' at first compared to a screen printed tee, but softens after a few washes.

Who prints them?

All of our DTF-printed clothing is handprinted in the UK by Ivy.

How are they eco friendly?

DTF prints use water-based, eco-friendly inks. We also only produce our garments in small batches to avoid any excess stock adding to landfill.
